From Chrome, to Vintage, to Autographs

Today we'll be highlighting a fun PWE style trade I made with Brian of Highly Subjective and Completely Arbitrary waaaaaay the heck back in August.  Yes... the time has come to start catching up on all the trade posts I've missed doing.  I've still been quite active in the hobby, and you've probably seen me trolling in the comments sections of all your blogs, but I do know I need to get caught up with some thank yous.

So here's the second of many more to come!

This trade spawned after Brian posted something about picking up this here Dansby.  Now, mind you... this was way the heck back in August, so we were coming off a (pretty much) nightmare season for the kid with "the flow".  He had certainly not lived up to all the hype he received coming into the year.

I'm proud to say that Dansby is starting off his sophomore season on a great note.  He's hitting the ball hard and seems to have started to learn to go with the pitch a bit more.  It's certainly showing in his batting average.

Some fun vintage action was included as well!  An off-centered Felipe Alou featuring the burlap design, and a (maybe?) off-centered Bobby Avila.  I don't own any other 1960 Topps cards, so I can't actually say for sure, but my guess is that the card is probably supposed to be a bit more centered top to bottom.  Regardless, I could care less about centering on these fine specimens.  It's not too often that vintage baseball enters my place of living (you have to draw the collecting line somewhere, right?), so I'm always overjoyed to see new cards from the 50's and 60's, especially when they're Braves!

Going a bit more modern here with a new Kimbrel and a new Maddux.  Loving the All-Star Rookie trophy.

A Murph!  Hey look!  It's a Panini card!  No logo and no team name!  :p  An autograph of a guy who both started and ended his career with the Braves.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like certified on-card autographs were fairly few and far between in the late 90's.  I feel like Evans would be a bit more well known nowadays (at least by Braves fans) if his career didn't end just a few years before one of the best 3rd basemen started playing in Atlanta.

Finally, the package would not be complete without a new addition to the Sean Newcomb PC.  Thanks Brian!
